It is possible to perform lengthening and enlargement of the penis during the same surgical operation.

Indeed, the combined procedure is the most frequently performed (used in 70% of cases) because it ensures the maintenance of the correct proportion between length and girth of the penis. A too long penis could visually appear thin, while an overly large penis could give the visual impression of inadequate length.

Penile lengthening is carried out through the division of the suspensory ligament, in order to allow the forward movement of the corpora; while the most common technique for penile girth enhancement consists of autologous fat transfer, where adipose tissue harvested from areas such as the hips is grafted into the dartos fascia of the penis, with no involvement of the erectile tissues. The main advantage of autologous fat grafting is the use of the patient’s own adipose tissue.

All our procedures are outpatient procedures, with discharge within a few hours from the surgery.

Every procedure we perform is bespoke to the individual patient and can combine a variety of techniques to produce optimal aesthetic results. In fact, the most commonly performed procedure in our clinic is a combination of lengthening and enlargement as this ensures the maintenance of the correct proportion between length and girth of the penis. A too long penis could visually appear thin, while an overly large penis could give the visual impression of inadequate length.

The duration of the operation varies according to the techniques used but it never exceeds two hours. The anaesthetic used could be local with sedation or general. The operation is in any case always performed as a day case, with discharge on the same day as surgery. Post- surgical pain will be modest and easy to control with analgesics (all operations, thanks to our anaesthesia team, are performed following the principles of ‘painless surgery’).

A rest period of at least two days is recommended followed by a gradual resumption of all activities with the exception of sports and sexual activities for which the patient will have to wait between four and six weeks respectively.
